"BACKPACKER"

With the interest in bushcraft / survival skills we thought it would be appropriate to introduce a small bushcraft knife.  Here it is and it is called the "Backpacker".  This is one of those knives that is not a pain to carry and can get you through some pretty tough going.

Blade:  It is made of carbon steel (1095) and is 4" long and 1/8" thick.  It has a convex grind to give the blade strength and a convex edge for great edge retention.  We placed thumb notches on the top side.  It is differential heat treated to make the blade strong.

Hilt:  The hilt can be brass or nickel silver.

Handle:  When you get to the handle you will find something a bit different.  We have used the very durable phenolic material, but we have installed a hollow tang through the handle with a firestarter attached to the plug.

This knife has a great blending of European and American ideas to bring you a knife that will stand up to the job.

"THE SEARCHER"

This knife was inspired by Ed's favorite movie.  It is made of 1095 carbon steel and has a Black Walnut handle.  We hope to offer it in the future with rawhide wrapped handle.  We have Steve working on an old style western sheath for it.  It can be done with convex grind and hammer marks left on the blade.

The "Companion"

This is the "Companion" knife.  We can do it in carbon steel or stainless steel - with or without handle scales.
